A Day In the Life of a Castle Creek Kindergartener

While your child’s exact schedule may vary, here are the typical activities your child will experience:

  • Morning Devotional & Worship: We start our day by centering our hearts. Through age-appropriate Bible stories and songs, students learn character traits like kindness, patience, and honesty.
  • Phonics & Language Arts (Abeka): Using the proven Abeka method, students begin the exciting journey of reading. We move from letter sounds to “special sounds” and blending, turning early learners into confident readers.
  • Creative Play & Social Growth: Independence is built on the playground and in the classroom. This is where “Team Building” happens—learning to share, resolve conflict, and lead others.
  • Math & Logic Explorations: From counting by tens to basic addition and telling time, our hands-on math activities make abstract numbers feel real.
  • Science & Discovery: Whether we are planting seeds or studying the weather, we explore God’s creation through observation and “messy” experiments.
  • Enrichment & Reflection: The day ends with art, music, or library time, followed by a reflection on what we learned and a closing prayer.

Is Your Child Ready for Big School?

For many children, being five years old is just the beginning of a developmental leap. At Castle Creek Christian Academy, we specialize in the “younger five.” While public schools may push children into a rigid environment before they’re ready, we offer a challenging, but supportive bridge to the elementary school classroom environment.

Our program ensures that when your child moves to 1st Grade, they aren’t just meeting the minimum requirements – they are leading the class in reading fluency, social confidence, and emotional maturity. We turn “I can’t” into “I did it!”

Curriculum

Kindergarten Education Designed to Foster Growth

Academic Rigor via Abeka

We don’t believe in “busy work.” The Abeka curriculum is chosen for its spiral learning approach, meaning we constantly revisit concepts to ensure mastery. Your child will leave our program with a foundation in phonics and numeracy that often exceeds state standards.

Faith-Integrated Learning

Biblical truths aren’t just taught in a 20-minute Bible block; they are woven into everything. In Science, we see God’s design. In Math, we see His order. In Social Studies, we learn to love our neighbors as ourselves.

The “Hands-On” Advantage

Kindergarteners learn with their hands. Our program prioritizes field trips to local North Texas landmarks and classroom experiments that allow children to touch, build, and create. This tactile approach ensures that “learning” is synonymous with “fun.”

Questions about Kindergarten at CCCA

Not at Castle Creek Christian Academy. Because we use a hands-on, multi-sensory approach, we are able to differentiate instruction. If your child is an advanced reader, we provide enrichment materials to keep them challenged while ensuring their social and fine-motor skills catch up to their intellect.

We believe the world is our classroom! We schedule regular outings that align with our Abeka units—ranging from local nature centers to community services like the fire station—to give children a real-world context for what they’re learning about.
