Castle Creek Christian Academy is founded by experienced Christian educators who understand education, curriculum, teamwork, and administration. Most importantly, they’ve built a center that reflects the type of environment that they would want for their own children. Castle Creek and the children within are blessed to have a phenominal group of teachers who are proven to lead a team to much success. 

 

Kelly Braugh    Academy Director

With twenty years of Early Childcare experience, Kelly has found this job field to be the most rewarding.  She has a passion for children, and has adopted two of her own.  This love for children, in addition to her background, education, and degree in Accounting, provide the ideal components for her role as Director.  Kelly has five beautiful children, and claims many more within these four walls.  Her past times include running in the outdoors, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.  "Castle Creek is a wonderful opportunity to reach the children in the community with the love of God, and a chance to change lives.  I am blessed to be a part of it!  Thank you for this chance to build a relationship with your child, and with you!" -  Kelly

Tammy Fitzgerald    Assistant Director

Tammy has 32 years of experience in the Early Childcare field.  Along with her administrative experience, Tammy carries most of her experience working directly in the classroom.  She has worked with all ages, including newborns through 5th grade.  She has also worked with special needs children in many capacities.  She enjoys living in Flower Mound with her husband Ryan. Her daughter attends Castle Creek in the afterschool program.  She enjoys cooking, reading, music, and time with family and friends. 

Claudia Cervoni    Staff Support

Claudia has 10+ years of customer servce experiece.  She has 2 kids enrolled in Castle Creek Christian Academy.  She enjoys cooking, going on walks, and spending time with family and friends.

Estela Guajardo    Lead Teacher - Infants

Originally from Tamaulipas, Mexico, Estela has lived in the DFW area for more than half of her life. With 17 years of child care experience, she hopes to bring love and charismatic joy to all the children at CCCA. Her hobbies include listening to different genres of music, dancing, cooking and baking. Communication is important not only with the family at home, but with her close friends as well. Her two sons now 18 and 13, and her daughter who is 5, have been the blessings of her life. She loves to work with kids of all ages, but has a special place in her enormous heart for infants and toddlers. She believes setting a proper and jovial foundation at a young age brings the best for the future of the next generation. Estela is blessed to be a part of the team and hopes to bring a fun and enjoyable vibe to both children and staff at CCCA.

Teresa Carceller Ruiz    Assistant Teacher - Infants

Teresa recently moved to Dallas from Madrid, Spain, where she has lived most of her life, although she is original from Cuba.  Teresa has more than ten years of experience working with children of all ages.  She has been working since she was 16 years old as a babysitter, camp counsellor, museum educator, and private teacher.  Before moving to Dallas she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Humanities at Universidad de Alcalá in Madrid before moving to Paris, France to do her internship as a teacher in the Liceo Luis Buñuel.  Teresa enjoys cultural activities, volunteering, and spending quality time with friends and family.  She is very excited about her new life in Dallas with her husband and working at CCCA.

Debra Rodrigues    Assistant Teacher - Toddlers

Debra has worked as a sub for a public preschool and worked as teacher in a Montessori preschool for almost 2 years. She enjoys skiing, hiking, swimming, drawing and doing anything with her three children. She believes that by doing what you love, you inspire and awaken the hearts of others.

Sterling Stinson    Assistant Teacher - Toddlers

Sterling grew up in the Denton area and graduated from Ponder High School before continuing to get her BBA at Texas Woman's University.  She is engaged to be married this September, and has a rescue tabby cat named "Billy".  She loves learning, being creative, and keeping journals.  She believes it is imporatant to keep in mind the different needs of each child and tailor their care to those.

Jennifer Bridges    Lead Teacher - Early Preschool

Jennifer has over 10 years of experience as an Infant, Toddler, and Early Preschool Teacher. She feels that it is such a blessing to be able to help mold children while watching them learn and grow. Jennifer has earned a Child Development Associate from Tarrent County College. She enjoys crafting, singing, and interior design. Jennifer can't wait to build lasting relationhips with the students and families at Castle Creek Christian Academy.

Angela Denis    Lead Teacher - Early Preschool

Angela has many years of experience working with children, and has three beautiful girls of her own. She graduated from Jenkins High School in Florida, where she lived for many years.  She recently moved back to Texas, to be closer to her family. She is excited about working at Castle Creek, and wants to guide children's creativity, and hopes to help them find new ways to learn. She enjoys reading the Bible, spending time with her children outdoors, and cooking with her family.

Lindsey Carver    Assistant Teacher - Early Preschool

Lindsey comes to Castle Creek with experience working at another Christian daycare and years of babysitting experience.  She is currently finishing up her degree at UNT for Early Childhood Care with a minor in Music.  She has a great love of working with children and an even greater love of sharing God's love.  Lindsey is the youngest in her family, with an older sister in Lubbock finishing up nursing school.  Her hobbies include playing her trumpet, reading, and playing with her puppy.

Tracy Gunther    Lead Teacher - Young Preschool

Tracy came to work at Castle Creek when they opened 9 years ago.  Tracy attended Leary Technical where she earned her CDA in Child development.  Tracy has been working in child care for 20 years, and absolutely loves it!

Gladys Cuanchiohong    Assistant Teacher - Young Preschool

Gladys has worked in childcare for 18 years. She has been blessed with raising her son who is currently in college.  She loves all age groups, but the 2 and 3 year olds are her favorite! Gladys enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Valarie Walker    Lead Teacher - Preschool 1

Valarie is originally from North Carolina.  She moved to Texas in 1999.  She has 23 years of experience in early child care.  She loves teaching children and always looks forward to seeing the progress they make throughout the year.  Valarie feels that encouragement and praise are very important during the informative years.  She loves spending time with her husband and two sons.  She enjoys church, camping, reading and shopping, especially the flea market and craft shows.  Valarie feels blessed to be a part of the Castle Creek family.

Amber Smith    Assistant Teacher - Preschool 1

Amber comes to Castle Creek with over 6 years of experience in childcare.  Amber started as an assistant teacher and found her life calling caring for and teaching children.  She has always wanted to help others and her community and found childcare to be a perfect fit.  She is the oldest in her family being 27, she has a younger sister.  Her hobbies include gardening, making art, and enjoying books.

Karen Holland    Lead Teacher - PreSchool 2

Karen and her husband recently moved to Texas from Indiana and have three children, one grown son and two daughters in college.  She also has two fur babies.  She has worked in the elementary education field for over ten years.  She loves working with children and finds it a privilege to assist in the beginning steps of a child's academic, social and spiritual life.  She believes that parents and teachers communicating is a key to a child's success in life.  

Wendy Nelson    Assistant Teacher - Preschool 2

Wendy has over 16 years experience working with children from infants to after schoolers.  Her favorite age group is older three and four year olds.  She has a passion for teaching and she feels blessed to join the CCCA team.  For the past 3 years she was a preschool teacher/nanny to 2 little girls where she had the opportunity to encourage, teach, and nurture them to prepare them for school.  Being able to teach is one of the best blessings in the world!  It is so much fun to be a part of childrens path of learning and watch them light up with enthusiasm.  My husband Chad and I have 2 fur babies Peanut and Butter.  We enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to church, doing crafts and watching football.  Teacher's Moto: "Always do your best and be the change you want to see in the World".  What a wonderful blessing it is to be here! Looking forward to meeting you all.

April Davis    Lead Teacher - Junior Kindergarten 1

April comes to us with a lot of teaching experience, and has worked with children for 16 years.  Although she has worked with various age groups, 4-5 year olds are her favorite!  She was born and raised in Texas, and has two grown children who live in Denton.  She is close to them and loves spending time with family and friends. 

Heather Boothe    Lead Teacher - Junior Kindergarten 2

Heather is originally from Kansas where she attended Olathe North High School. Her passion for working with children was instilled in her since a young age. She has worked extensively in early child care for over 27 years through nannying, in-home daycares, homeschooling for 10 years, teaching Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) ages 4-16 for 6 years, and Children’s Ministries for over 10 years. Raising her three grown children has freed her time to pour out her love of teaching by helping children grow and learn in ways that best express their personalities and development.

Mireya Medrano    Head of School Food Service

Marta "Mireya" is originally from Guatemala.  She speaks fluent English, and of course Spanish.  She has four sons and five grandchildren who she loves spending time with!  She has worked in the cooking industry for 20 years, all primarily in childcare.  Mireya loves children and has a servant's heart!  She has worked with several of her coworkers for upwards of 15 years.  She enjoys attending church and doing crafts.
